What an absolute treat! Clients and staff this week broadcast three fabulous peformances of their festive masterpeice, The Tale of Mrs Stuffing and the Missing Christmas Turkey.
This comic reworking of Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol, retained the lesson of the need for kindness and served it with a good helping of comedy.
A Glittering Cast
Toni was a fabulously wicked Mrs Stuffing (Boo! Hiss!) Hayley then gave us goosebumps with her chilling performance as the Ghost of Christmas Future. (Fab wings, Hayley.) They shared the limelight with Lee, Colin and Pure Support Worker Jack who were all wonderful as Mrs Stuffing’s hapless workers. (Hooray!)
Don’t take our word for it though. Coffee and biscuit time? Great. Check out the video!
Take a bow everyone! What a wonderful, uplifting performance.
Behind the Scenes
As with any production, a lot of work went on literally behind the scenes of The Tale of Mrs Stuffing. Scenery, props and costumes were manufactured by clients at both our new Creative Hub and The Jonathan Burns Centre, where the performances were held. Got to love those hand-printed t-shirts!
The accolades for Script Writing and for Sound Production go to Pure’s Sarah and Simon respectively. Wonderful creativity!
Online Audience
This lovely slice of Christmas cheer was broadcast on Zoom and streamed live on Facebook.
This meant clients currently unable to access Pure services could share in the fun and see their friends again. Staff working remotely who haven’t seen clients for so long were delighted too. Hats off to Pure staff Vicky, Simon and Gayatri who made this happen. Connections are, after all, now more important than ever.
Our very warm thanks and hearty congratulations to all involved in this truly entertaining and lovely festive production.
Now it really is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.
We send you all our very best wishes this Christmastime.
